What is ICEcast?

Icecast is a streaming media server that was developed by the Xiph.org Foundation and released for free. Icecast was originally created as an open-source audio streaming server that people could modify to their liking. Icecast is very versitle and allows the streaming of Vorbis, Theora, MP3, and AAC content. Stream101 uses a special version of Icecast that is continually developed called KH Builds.
